Directorate of criminal investigations
(DCI) detectives have arrested a man who allegedly killed his suspected lover
by throwing her off a balcony in Mombasa.
According to tuko, the suspect,
suleimen Mayanja who is Ugandan national. Is said to have invited the 25-year
old lady to his rented apartment in Nyali, Mombasa County.
However, at 3am on the
fateful day, as reported by the police, a guard at the apartment said he heard
screams followed by a loud bang a few meters away. Upon approaching the scene,
the guard, Parsaoti Ole Morinket, found a half-dressed woman lying dead in a plunge
of her own blood.
When he reached out to
the hotels janitors who rushed to the scene and identified the deceased to have
been invited by Mayanja. When they rushed to his room, they found him missing
and alerted the DCI sleuths based in Nyali.
ARRESTED
AT NYALI CINEMAX
Mayanja is reported to
have entered Kenya via Busia border point which was busted by detectives at the
Nyali Cinemax where he was hiding after the incident. The suspected killer had sent
a runner to collect his belongings from the room which he had booked on September
30, when detectives pounced on him.
He was immediately seized
and whisked to a waiting police station hatchback that sped towards the suspects’
hideout. The suspect is currently being grilled for more details relating to
the incident, for appropriate charges to be preferred against him before
arraignment.
