Patience pains but pays, they say. But being patient
without getting results pains and breaks you at the same time. In today’s
story, Mariam Nduta a Kenyan narrates how she rejected a couple of marriage
proposals from different men in her 20s because she wants ready for it and
still waiting on the Lord.
She’s now in her 30s but still single and she says
that she has no regrets about not rushing to get married in her 20s because
she’s waiting on God. She said that she doesn't want to settle down with just anybody
because, at her age, she knows what she wants.
She says that she had every chance possible to get
married to several men who proposed to her but it was not just the time for
her. Anyhow, speaking on the Metha ya
Kagoni YouTube channel, the chocolate-skinned beauty recounted that she had
a lovely relationship with her first boyfriend who was also her first love.
She said the three-year relationship was serious
albeit being on and off and at some point, the man told her that he was ready
to marry her. However, according to Mariam, at the time he was insisting on
marrying her, she had got a new job as an assistant admin and she was just not
ready for marriage.
She said that however much she tried asking her
boyfriend to give her some time, he couldn’t because he wanted to settle down
immediately. Nduta said. She added that, as soon as he got another lady who was
ready for marriage that marked the end of their relationship.
Mariam says that she's 30 now, single, and says that
though she turned down many marriage proposals during her 20s, she has no
regrets at all. "The reason am single is that when serious people come
into my life, I wasn't ready' she said.
She, however, admits that finding Mr. Right is not an
easy affair because she doesn't want to just settle with anyone. "This is
a lifetime thing and I do not want to do it with just anyone. I realized as I
grow older and exposed, I am clearer on what I want in a man" she said.
Now, I know that many people have choices on whom they want to get old with together with but, my question to you is, at what age would you like to get married?
