Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni has extended a quarantine placed on two districts that are the epicentre of the country's Ebola outbreak by 21 days, adding that his government's response to the disease was succeeding.
Schools in Uganda also were ordered to close as soon as Friday, two weeks ahead of schedule as authorities raced to stop an Ebola outbreak from spreading in crowded places.
A ministry of education directive ordered all pre-primary, primary and secondary schools to close from November 25, after 23 Ebola cases were confirmed among pupils.
