Hudu Hussein, the resident city commissioner (RCC) of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) speaking at Uganda Media Center he revealed a new “seven new measures” government policy towards making Kampala city cleaner, smarter and more modern city which in continuation to a series of recent changes in Kampala city, will also see street preachers disappear in Kampala streets in only a period of 30 days.
“Our good pastors, we love you so much but I am giving you an amnesty of 30 days so that you evacuate the streets, we want a more serious city” Hussein said.

He continued saying that those new measures are a part of a bigger plan to recreate and transform Kampala city into a city of character like Dubai that KCCA plans to ensure that there is no action of ‘unseriousness’ carried out in Kampala.
He talked again on the issue of street vendors vowing to close the building or the shop owner in case they allow their verandas to be used by street vendors.
“If we find a shop owner or Landlord allowing street vendors on the veranda of his/her building we shall close the building or close the shop.” He said.
