Most people
will agree that the trend on the Ugandan internet scene is a couple of pictures
and videos of people proposing or getting married. It's the culture that many
people are embracing ever since the outbreak of the pandemic. I guess everyone
doing it has their reasons.
It doesn't
matter where one meets with their partner but what matters to me is where the
relationship is headed to. Normally, we say love is when you get the right
person who loves you back and cares for you. Most people find their love in the
church, bars, or even school.
Another
thing that matters to me is whether the relationship is moving towards where
you envision it. Our trust and love are
still the core as they were in the beginning when the two of you met despite
how the man proposes to the lady?
Yesterday
while taking a walk on the streets of Instagram, I came across this funny,
annoying, scary video of how this man proposed to his girlfriend. In my entire
life, I don’t think I will ever propose to my girlfriend in that way, but I
guess every person has what they think will work for them.
In a video
shared on the OFFICIALGOSSIP page, a young man caused so much confession in
Ghana in public as he pretended to be dead near a swimming pool to test his
girlfriend's loyalty to him. Now, this was an automatic breakup move according
to me as in why too much drama?
Anyhow, this
gentleman was lying on the floor and his girlfriend cried out with a very
frustrated face portraying how much she was in pain. She called him out, "Baby
wakes up don't do this to me” thinking that her boyfriend was dead.
In a few
seconds, the young man picked himself up, and in one of his hands was a ring.
He proposed to his girlfriend and everyone was very surprised. He’s lucky that
she accepted his ring but that was a very risky move given the environment he
acted all that drama in.
There has
been a lot of such related proposal "situations" even here in Kampala
where one guy caused a jam along Jinja road just to propose to his girlfriend
and I am wondering if you can do the same if you’re planning to propose?
Would you go
the extra mile to put up such "situations" just to propose to your
girlfriend? Let me know what you would do in the comments section below.
