Lydia
Jazmine a recording Ugandan artiste is not happy with fellow Ugandan singers as
she branded them jealous and selfish at the same time for failing to blow their
music trumpet beyond Busia, Mutukula, Alegu, and Congo borders.
The fashion
lover and Kapesa crooner made her comments while featuring on After5 a show on
NBS a local television when she was asked as to why Ugandan artistes have
failed to shine internationally like other artists from other countries yet
Uganda has a lot of young talent. She spilled
tea on how a Nigerian artiste whose name she didn’t disclose bought her a
ticket to fly to Nigeria for two solid weeks on a fully paid visit.
But luck run
short of her when the coronavirus pandemic polluted Uganda causing her to
cancel her travel to Nigeria where she was going to interact with talented
musicians and producers. The chocolate skinned beauty let the cut out of the
bag and I quote her saying,
"It
can't be one factor as to why we have failed to shine at big stages but I will
be honest, we Ugandan artistes, we don't wish well for one another.
Unfortunately, we are selfish because if you're to compare us with Nigerians or
Tanzanians, you'll spot a big difference”
Added some
icing sugar on the cake, Miss Jazmine said that whenever Nigerian artistes spot
a good young talent, they'll support that person to top by sighting Don Jazzy
as an example of such good people.
I am not
sure of what you make of Miss Jasmine's comments. Let me know your opinions
down in the comments section below.
