Breaking:Uganda recording downward trend in Ebola cases - official

Uganda confirmed an outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Mubende District back in September and the first case who was a 24-year-old male a resident of Ngabano village of Madudu Sub County in Mubende District presented with EVD symptoms and later died.

Since the outbreak was declared in the central district of Mubende on September 20, cases had spread across the country, including to the capital Kampala, with 55 deaths reported nationwide, according to Ugandan authorities.


However some good news have came to light showing how Uganda has recorded a drop in the number of new Ebola cases, with some districts going for at least two weeks without registering new infections, health ministry officials said.

To ensure things are going back to normal Ugandan officials graced a marathon with thousands of people. Robina Nabbanja, Diana Atwiine from the Ministry of Health.

Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni also urged foreign visitors not to cancel their plans over fears of the Ebola outbreak in the East African nation, insisting that the disease was under control.
