A Precision Air plane flying from Dar es Salaam to Bukoba has crashed into Lake Victoria in Tanzania’s Kagera region. Rescue efforts are underway. Reports say the crash was occasioned by bad weather; rescue efforts of 49 passengers on board begun immediately So far, 26 people have been rescued from the water, according to Albert Chalamila, the governor of Kagera Region, where the crash happened.

Pilot was named as Captain Buruhani Rubaga (pictured), an experienced aviator with the airline for nearly 20 years and the First officer was Peter Omondi.Also The 48-seater ATR42-500 plane was 12 years old.
