Lemehani Nathan Nyirenda was studying nuclear engineering at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI). In April 2020, he received 9.5 years in a Russian colony, the Zambian Foreign Minister said, without specifying what crime Nyirenda was convicted of.

On September 22, the student died in the military zone in Ukraine, but it is not clear how he ended up there. Now his body is already in Rostov, and the government of Zambia demands to provide the Russian authorities with information about the circumstances under which the Zambian citizen died.
