India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran have all staked a claim to the 105.6 carat gem, which has been the prized jewel of the 🇬🇧 crown for decades.
Queen Elizabeth’s death has once again sparked calls for it to be returned - with some saying the Bhadrakali temple in Warangal is the rightful owner.

Petitions have been launched too. The Puri Jagannath in Odisha says it was looted from Emperor Ranjit.
It was initially "gifted" to the British by 10-year-old king Duleep Singh as part of a peace treaty. The most prominent pushes to have it returned took place in 1947, 1997, 2000 and 2010.
