The UK's youngest volunteer has said he was lucky to escape alive, after describing the chaos that greeted foreign recruits in Ukraine.
“You can’t trust these people to look after you,” 18-year-old Ben Atkin told Channel 4. “It’s disorganized mayhem, you are ill-equipped, you’re poorly armed . . . You will be used as cannon-fodder.”
He added he was told his three-month tour would actually be three years, and when he asked why was told: “Nobody would join otherwise.”Below is the full interview of Ben Atkin
