Texas Shooting Fallout: Clear Backpacks Mandate For Some Schools
In the wake of the Uvalde school shooting more Texas school districts are demanding students use clear backpacks to improve safety and processing pupils through metal detector lines.
Ingleside, Harper and Greenville districts have now all moved to implement the rule change starting for the 2022/23 school year, with the latter also requiring all school doors to remain locked at all times.
Students at a Parkland, Florida high school questioned the clear backpack policy after a shooting claimed four lives in 2018 over effectiveness and privacy concerns.
