3 Bomb Explosions Rock Kampala |
Uganda capital, Kampala, was on Tuesday, November 16,
rocked by three bomb explosions that have left some people dead and some rushed
in Mulago hospital. The first explosion reportedly went off at city square
followed by one parliament Avenue that hit the jubilee insurance building and
claimed people's lives as well.
According to a report by the Daily Monitor, another
explosion occurred near kooki Towers, opposite the Central Police Station.
Daily Monitor reported that two Police officers were confirmed dead during the
incident and several people injured during the separate incidents, the latest
to hit the pearl of Africa.
Several cars could be seen burning on Parliament
Avenue according to videos making rounds on social media.
Following the explosions, Uganda parliament deputy speaker,
Anita Among suspended the activities in the house and asked legislators to stay
home and the parliament clerk, Adolf Mwesige read,
I have been directed by the Hon deputy speaker of parliament to inform you that there will be no sitting of parliament today. You are advised not to proceed to the precincts of parliament as security forces are working hard to restore order around parliament
